Omonia acquires Giorgos Viktoros from Nea Salamina on loan

Omonia Nicosia has reached an agreement with Nea Salamina to acquire 21-year-old central defender Giorgos Viktoros on a loan deal. The transfer, initiated to bolster the team's defensive line following the sale of Nikolas Panagiotou to Utrecht, includes an option to purchase the player at the end of the current season. The deal was finalized by Omonia’s management, supported by coach Henning Berg and Simos Tarapoulouzis, as the transfer window for domestic moves remains open until September 30.

Viktoros, a 1.90-meter defender who has previously played for the youth national team, has appeared in four matches this season for Nea Salamina. Having started his career in the Anorthosis academy before moving to Nea Salamina in 2019, he has logged 49 appearances for the first team. The move is intended to add depth to Omonia’s defense, specifically providing a specialist option for the left central defender position. Final administrative procedures are currently being completed to finalize the move from Larnaca to Nicosia.
