Second Israeli basketball club explores Cyprus move

Hapoel Jerusalem has joined Maccabi Tel Aviv in formally inquiring about relocating their home basketball fixtures to Cyprus. Club owner Matan Adelson confirmed the move on Friday, following similar discussions between Maccabi and Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides. While Cyprus previously hosted Israeli clubs behind closed doors after October 2023, the government is currently evaluating the security and operational implications of these new requests before making a final decision.
