Bosnian national arrested at Larnaca airport for attempted murder

A 33-year-old man was arrested by police at Larnaca International Airport on September 25, 2026, upon his arrival from abroad. The individual was detained after a passport control check revealed that he was a wanted fugitive by the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He is wanted in connection with an attempted murder and conspiracy to commit a felony, crimes allegedly committed in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2019. Interpol had previously issued a Red Notice for his arrest. Following his detention in Cyprus, a temporary judicial arrest warrant was issued to initiate extradition proceedings to his home country. The suspect is scheduled to appear in court to begin the legal process regarding his extradition to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
