Cyprus tax authorities report progress on 2025 income tax submissions

As of September 25, 2026, a total of 167,100 taxpayers have processed their income tax declarations for the 2025 tax year in Cyprus. According to Tax Commissioner Sotiris Markides, this figure represents approximately 49% of the total volume recorded for the 2024 tax year by the deadline. Currently, 144,800 declarations have been finalized, while 22,300 remain in a status of temporary receipt.

For context, during the previous 2024 tax cycle, authorities processed 342,600 declarations, with 337,400 submitted definitively. Commissioner Markides noted that the number of declarations is expected to be slightly higher this year, citing the continuous broadening of the tax base. The deadline for submitting 2025 tax declarations and paying any resulting taxes without interest or penalties is October 31, 2026.

The Tax Department urges all taxpayers who have not yet fulfilled their obligations to do so promptly to avoid potential charges. Authorities are closely monitoring the submission process as the end of October approaches to ensure compliance.
