Cyprus tax department reports on 2025 income tax filing progress

As of September 25, 2026, 167,100 taxpayers in Cyprus have processed their income tax returns for the 2025 tax year. According to Tax Commissioner Sotiris Markides, this figure represents approximately 49% of the total volume processed during the 2024 tax year. Specifically, 144,800 individuals have submitted their declarations definitively, while 22,300 remain in a temporary status.

For the 2024 tax year, the final records showed 342,600 total processed returns, with 337,400 submitted definitively. Commissioner Markides noted that the number of filings is expected to rise this year due to the ongoing expansion of the tax base.

The Tax Department has set a deadline of October 31, 2026, for the submission of individual income tax declarations and the payment of any resulting taxes or contributions. Taxpayers are encouraged to complete their filings before this date to avoid the imposition of interest and penalties.
