Stefanos Tsitsipas to compete in Japan Open qualifiers

Greek tennis player Stefanos Tsitsipas, ranked 44th in the world, is set to participate in the qualifying rounds of the ATP 500 Japan Open in Tokyo. The athlete failed to secure a direct entry into the main draw after Ben Shelton withdrew and the vacant spot was filled by Alex Michelsen. Consequently, Tsitsipas remains in the qualifying stage, which is scheduled to take place between September 28 and September 30, 2026.

In the first round of the qualifiers, Tsitsipas will face Japanese player Yoshihito Nishioka, who enters the tournament via a wildcard.
