Cyprus to provide on-site support for patients traveling to France

Cyprus Minister of Health, Neophytos Charalambidis, announced that the Cypriot Embassy in Paris will begin providing dedicated on-site support for Cypriot patients and their families starting October 2, 2026. This initiative, approved by the Council of Ministers, aims to assist individuals who must travel to France for specialized medical treatments.

The appointed staff member will focus on addressing the significant practical and financial challenges that families face when seeking medical care abroad. Minister Charalambidis emphasized that this measure acknowledges that the difficulties encountered by patients, especially children and young people, extend far beyond the immediate medical procedures required for their recovery.

This decision marks a shift in support services, moving away from purely clinical assistance to a more holistic approach that considers the logistical burden on patients and their relatives. The formal announcement was made during the 'Festival of Love and Humanity' organized by the Christina A. Apostolou Foundation in Larnaca on Saturday, confirming that all procedural arrangements have been finalized for the service to commence as scheduled.
