Fire destroys property at car rental business in Larnaca

A fire broke out at a car rental agency in Larnaca during the early hours of September 28, 2026. Authorities received notification of the incident at approximately 2:18 a.m., prompting a swift response from local police and fire services, who successfully extinguished the flames.

The blaze caused significant damage to property, including three vehicles parked outside the premises and an electric bicycle located inside the office. Personal belongings belonging to the 52-year-old owner of the business were also destroyed in the fire. The total value of the losses has not yet been determined.

Investigations into the exact cause of the fire are ongoing. A joint team consisting of members from the police, the Fire Service, and the Electrical and Mechanical Services is scheduled to conduct a detailed examination of the scene later today.
