Car rental agency fire in Larnaca

A fire broke out at a car rental agency in Larnaca in the early hours of September 28, 2026, prompting an emergency response from the police and the fire department. The alarm was raised at approximately 2:18 a.m., and authorities successfully extinguished the blaze shortly after arriving at the scene.

The fire caused damage to three vehicles parked outside the premises. Inside the office, the blaze destroyed an electric bicycle and personal belongings belonging to the 52-year-old owner of the business. While the total value of the damages has not yet been calculated, the authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire.

Representatives from the police, the fire service, and the Electromechanical Service are scheduled to conduct further examinations at the scene today to determine the precise origin of the fire. The case is currently under investigation by the Larnaca Criminal Investigation Department (TAE).
