Recent series of vehicle fires reported across Cyprus

Over the past several days, three separate incidents involving vehicle fires have occurred across Cyprus. On September 28, a fire at a car rental agency in Larnaca damaged three vehicles, an electric bicycle, and personal belongings of the 52-year-old owner. Authorities have preliminarily ruled out criminal activity, though the exact cause remains under investigation by the police, fire services, and the Electromechanical Service.

On September 29, two additional vehicles were destroyed in Amargeti, Paphos, while parked outside a residence. Finally, on September 30, a vehicle parked at a factory in Ergates, Nicosia, caught fire around 13:25, sustaining significant engine and front-end damage. In all three cases, authorities and fire services were mobilized to extinguish the blazes and launch investigations into the causes. Scientific evidence has been collected in the Larnaca case for further analysis, while investigations remain ongoing for all incidents to determine if any underlying patterns or technical faults exist.
