Mountain Games Cyprus 2026 concludes in Troodos communities

The Mountain Games Cyprus 2026 concluded on Saturday, September 26, following a four-day multi-disciplinary event held across various Troodos mountain communities from September 23 to 26. Part of the European #BeActive week, the festival promoted sports, science, gastronomy, and cultural engagement within local societies.

The final day featured diverse activities across Agia Marina Xyliatou, Kakopetria, Spilia, Omodos, and Platres. In Agia Marina Xyliatou, the cycling festival hosted mountain biking races for various age categories, e-bike competitions, Eliminator races, and balancing bike events for younger participants. Simultaneously, in Kakopetria, an under-12 mentorship football tournament brought together eight teams to focus on athletic development and skill building.

Organizers noted that the event successfully demonstrated a multi-centric approach to regional activity, concluding with formal award ceremonies for the participants. The festival aimed to blend high-level athletic performance with community mentorship, successfully integrating regional tourism with active living initiatives.
