Greece triumphs over Germany in historic Nations League match

The Greek national football team achieved its first-ever victory against Germany on September 27, 2026, winning 1-0 at the WWK Arena in Augsburg during the UEFA Nations League. Dimitris Kourbelis scored the decisive goal in the 74th minute, capping off a disciplined defensive performance managed by head coach Ivan Jovanovic. Following the win, the Greek Football Federation announced a sold-out status for the team's upcoming home matches at Toumba Stadium in Thessaloniki.
