Doctors' union challenges transparency of public health director appointments

The Pancyprian Union of Government Doctors (PASYKI) has formally expressed serious concerns regarding the recent selection process for scientific directors within the State Health Services Organization (OKYPY). On September 28, 2026, the union challenged the transparency, legality, and meritocracy of the appointments, alleging that the organization deviated significantly from the initial terms stipulated in the formal calls for interest.

PASYKI reports that the final evaluation process introduced additional stages and criteria that were not previously disclosed to the candidates.
