Financial irregularities investigation highlights Roberto Mancini's Manchester City contract

The allegations suggest that former manager Roberto Mancini held two separate contracts during his tenure: an official deal paying approximately 1.69 million euros annually and a secondary, unofficial agreement worth roughly 2.03 million euros through Al Jazira, a club in Abu Dhabi also owned by City's owner, Sheikh Mansour. The secondary agreement reportedly involved advisory services requiring only four days of work per year, with payments funneled through the company Italy International Services.

These financial disclosures are part of a broader set of charges that could lead to severe penalties for the club, including potential relegation. While the accusations have drawn significant scrutiny, Mancini has dismissed the relevance of the claims to his current professional life. The former manager, who led Manchester City to its first top-tier league title in 44 years in 2012, stated that the issue is not his concern and that the investigation has been ongoing for several years, maintaining that the matter remains entirely the club's responsibility.
