Cyprus Post releases commemorative stamps honoring security forces

The Cyprus Post has officially presented a new commemorative stamp series titled "Security Forces of Cyprus," designed to honor the ongoing contributions of the Cyprus Police, the Fire Service, and the National Guard. Although the presentation took place on Monday, September 28, 2026, at the Press and Information Office in Nicosia, the stamps officially entered circulation earlier on September 11, 2026.

The event was attended by Minister of Transport, Communications and Works Evie Tsolaki, Minister of Justice and Public Order Kostas Fytiris, and various representatives of the security services. Minister Tsolaki emphasized that these stamps serve as historical records of national values and recognize the dedication of personnel who operate under demanding conditions. According to Cyprus Post Director Pavlos Pavlides, the collection includes stamps with denominations of 34 cents, 41 cents, and 50 cents, while a first-day cover is available for purchase at €2.06. The series features designs by artist Theodoros Kakoullis.

These institutions are fundamental to the state, with the police responsible for public safety, the fire brigade managing emergencies and natural disasters, and the National Guard tasked with territorial defense. The issuance acts as a symbolic gesture of national gratitude for the collective security provided by these bodies.
