Panathinaikos training updates and injury report
Panathinaikos players have returned to training at the Georgios Kalafatis facilities in Koropi as the team prepares for the resumption of league play. During the sessions held between September 27 and September 29, 2026, manager Jacob Neestrup led workouts focusing on ball movement, physical conditioning, and transition play. Notably, Victor Kristiansen has fully recovered from his previous injury and returned to full training sessions alongside his teammates.
However, the team faces roster absences, primarily due to international duties for 14 players, including several youth squad members. Additionally, Sotiris Kontouris has been sidelined for approximately ten days following a knee injury sustained during an U21 match between Greece and Georgia on September 26. Neestrup is utilizing this period to refine the team's tactical approach during the international break.
The squad is currently preparing for a demanding schedule that includes nine matches across all competitions within a one-month window, starting from the derby against Olympiacos on October 11 and concluding with a game against Iraklis on November 8. The team’s next training session is scheduled for the morning of Thursday, October 1.
