Volt Cyprus announces candidates for October electoral congress

Volt Cyprus has officially announced its list of candidates for the upcoming internal electoral congress, scheduled for October 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. The event will take place at the Discovery Hall of the University of Nicosia to determine the party's future leadership and strategic direction.

The race for the two co-chair positions features four candidates: Lysia Demetriou, Natasa Ioannou, Pieros Karoullas, and Ioannis Tirkidis. For the role of vice-president, Alexandros Apostolidis and Frixos Vryonidis are competing for the position, while Rodoula Demitriadou has been elected unopposed. Additionally, the party has published a list of candidates vying for seats on the Political Council, including Antonis Alexopoulos, Sofia Vasiliou, and others.

The candidates for the vice-presidency, Apostolidis and Vryonidis, issued a joint statement emphasizing that regardless of the election results, they intend to work together to honor the support received during the May elections, where the party garnered votes from approximately 11,500 citizens. They expressed their commitment to rational political dialogue and strengthening the party's influence in Cyprus.
