Pafos FC prepares for demanding autumn schedule
Pafos FC is utilizing the current international break to regroup and improve offensive efficiency following a challenging start to the Cyprus League season. The team, managed by Ricardo Sa Pinto, has struggled to convert opportunities, scoring only four goals in their first four domestic matches. Coach Sa Pinto is now focused on optimizing team performance as the club prepares for a high-stakes series of matches across the Cyprus League, the Conference League, and the domestic Cup.
The upcoming schedule for October and beyond is dense, with games every 3-4 days. Key fixtures include a league match against Anorthosis on October 11, followed by their Conference League opener against Atalanta in Bergamo on October 15. The team is also monitoring the return of key fullback Joao Correia, who has been sidelined since August 27, while integrating new signings Afonso Patrao and Jonatas Noro. Two players, Dragomir and Sunjic, are currently away on international duty, and the coaching staff is hopeful for their return without injury.
Looking ahead, the club intends to implement squad rotation to manage player fatigue. With 11 matches already played since July, the focus remains on refining the attacking strategy to meet the rising expectations of the demanding three-month period ahead, which includes five major league derbies and multiple European tests.
