Cyprus Stock Exchange ends Monday session with gains

The Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) concluded Monday's trading session on September 28, 2026, with a positive performance. The General Index rose by 0.33%, closing at 317.52 points, while the FTSE/CySE 20 index climbed by 0.32% to reach 186.56 points. The total daily turnover reached €238,610.39 across 106 transactions, reflecting moderate market activity.

Market performance was mixed across different sectors. The Main Market index grew by 0.68% and the Hotels sector index rose by 0.74%. Conversely, the Alternative Market declined by 0.72%, while the Investment Companies remained unchanged. Among individual shares, the Bank of Cyprus saw the highest interest with transactions totaling €148,726, closing at €10.70 with a 0.09% increase. Other notable activity included Vasiliko Cement Works, which rose by 2.44% to €6.30, while Cyprus Cement Company and Petrolina recorded declines of 3.60% and 1.63% respectively. Overall, out of the traded stocks, eight closed higher, five lower, and one remained unchanged.

Earlier in the day, around 13:04, preliminary data indicated a stronger intraday performance for the General Index at 318.63 points, suggesting slight fluctuations leading up to the final closing figures provided by the Cyprus News Agency.
