Zakynthos close to signing Amr Warda

Zakynthos, currently sitting at the bottom of the Super League 2 table, is finalizing a major transfer move by signing the 33-year-old Egyptian midfielder Amr Warda. With only one point collected after the first four rounds of the league, the team is looking to reinforce its roster significantly before the transfer window for free agents closes on September 29, 2026.

Warda, a well-known figure in Greek football, has been a free agent since June after his departure from Iraklis. His extensive career in Greece began in 2015 with Panetolikos, followed by stints at PAOK, Atromitos, Volos, Panserraikos, and spells in Cyprus with Anorthosis and Apollon Limassol. Throughout his time in the Greek top flight, he has recorded 98 appearances and 42 goals, while his tenure with Iraklis last season included 9 matches and two assists. The management of Zakynthos expects the deal to provide the necessary boost for the team to climb out of the relegation zone as the season continues.
