Nikola Milutinov to miss Olympiacos EuroLeague road games due to injury

Olympiacos center Nikola Milutinov will be unavailable for the team's upcoming EuroLeague road matches against Zalgiris in Kaunas and Virtus Bologna in Italy. Head coach Georgios Bartzokas confirmed that the Serbian player is suffering from persistent tendinitis, leading the medical staff to recommend a period of therapy and strengthening exercises rather than competitive play, as he had been struggling with pain during recent games. Milutinov had previously missed both matches of the Stoiximan Super Cup.

Following their victory in the Stoiximan Super Cup against PAOK with a score of 101-96, Olympiacos has traveled to Lithuania for their second EuroLeague fixture. To compensate for Milutinov’s absence, Bryant Dunston has joined the roster to support teammates Hall and Jones at the center position. Coach Bartzokas noted that while the absence of the Serbian star is a significant blow, the team intends to leverage its speed to maintain a competitive edge during this difficult stretch of the schedule.

The team is currently in the midst of an demanding road trip, playing five away games within the first six rounds of the EuroLeague. After facing Zalgiris on September 29, the squad will prepare for their encounter with Virtus Bologna scheduled for October 1, followed by their domestic league premiere against Iraklis in Thessaloniki on October 4.
