Babis Lazaridis fails to pass GNTM auditions

Babis Lazaridis, the 20-year-old son of singer Angeliki Iliadi, appeared at the auditions for the fashion reality show GNTM in late September 2026. Seeking to establish his own career in modeling, Lazaridis attended the audition alone, noting that his mother was performing in Kozani and that he preferred to face the process independently. He confirmed that his mother supports his professional choice.

During the evaluation, judge Betty Maggira recognized him from past photos with his mother. The young model spoke about a personal loss, specifically the death of his grandfather during the pandemic, which he commemorates with a tattoo. Despite the judges' interest in some aspects of his presentation, the panel ultimately felt he lacked the necessary experience and stature for the competition. While judge Lakis Gavalas voted in his favor, the majority did not, and Lazaridis was excluded from advancing to the bootcamp phase. He expressed disappointment at the outcome, having believed he possessed the necessary qualifications to continue.
