England manager Thomas Tuchel has firmly stated that players and their clubs will not have the authority to choose which matches they participate in during the current international break. The national team is scheduled to play four Nations League fixtures within an extended window, following a recent defeat to World Cup winners Spain.

Addressing concerns regarding player fatigue after limited summer breaks, Tuchel dismissed calls for rotation, emphasizing his commitment to winning every game. The schedule continues with an away match against the Czech Republic on Tuesday, followed by a trip to Croatia on Saturday and a home game against the Czech Republic on October 6.

Tuchel confirmed that he refuses to engage in discussions with Premier League managers regarding player workload. He argued that allowing players to selectively opt out of matches or manage their own minutes would set a dangerous precedent, asserting that his focus remains entirely on competitive performance rather than accommodating club-level concerns.
