Submission deadline for storm damage claims in Cyprus set for October 9

Following the extreme weather events that struck Cyprus on August 29, 2026, the Ministry of Interior has established a final deadline for citizens to submit formal damage claims. This process applies exclusively to individuals who previously reported property damage to their respective District Administrations by the initial deadline of September 7, 2026.

Affected citizens must complete and sign the designated 'Declaration of Affected Person' form provided by their District Administrations. This document, accompanied by all necessary supporting evidence, must be submitted either in person or electronically to the relevant District Administration office no later than October 9, 2026.

The ministry has clarified that this specific deadline does not allow for the submission of new damage reports, as the window for initial notifications has already closed. Failure to provide the required documentation by the October 9 cutoff will result in the loss of eligibility for government assistance regarding the damages sustained during the August 29 storms.
