Electricity Market Association meets with CERA to discuss market competition

On Monday, the Electricity Market Association (SAI) held a meeting with the Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority (CERA) to address the need for increased market competition. The delegation, led by SAI President George Chrysochos, met with CERA President Polyvios Lemonaris to propose measures aimed at improving the efficiency of the competitive electricity market, ultimately seeking to reduce energy costs for households and businesses.

The discussions focused on streamlining regulatory frameworks to foster transparency and fair market access. Both parties agreed on the importance of maintaining a constructive technical dialogue to implement practical solutions that protect the country's electricity grid and market functionality. These efforts reflect broader ongoing initiatives involving CERA and the Transmission System Operator (TSO) to enhance the overall competitiveness of the energy sector.
