Police in Cyprus appeal for information on two missing persons

Cypriot authorities have issued public appeals for information regarding the disappearances of two individuals in separate cases reported in September 2026. The first individual is 25-year-old Girgis Samy Girgis Awad, who was reported missing from his residence in Akaki on September 28. He was last seen on September 27 and is described as having dark skin, brown eyes, short black curly hair, and a short black beard. He is approximately 1.70 to 1.75 meters tall and was last seen wearing a light blue short-sleeved shirt and white shorts.

Separately, police are searching for 17-year-old Emiliyan Yordanov from Bulgaria, who has been missing from his residence in Nicosia since September 2, 2026. The youth is approximately 1.67 meters tall with a regular build and short brown hair. He was last seen wearing a black short-sleeved shirt, gray shorts, and black athletic shoes.

The police have requested that anyone with relevant information contact the Nicosia Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at 22802222, the Morphou CID at 22802555, the Citizen's Line at 1460, or any local police station. Investigations into both cases are ongoing as authorities continue their search efforts.
