Cyprus prepares for expanded October 1 military parade

The Republic of Cyprus is set to hold an expanded military parade on October 1 to mark its national day. This year’s event will feature an increased number of marching units, air assets, and advanced weapons systems compared to previous years.

The display will include a flypast over Nicosia featuring a pair of Greek F-16 fighter jets and an Egyptian Airbus C295 transport aircraft. Highlighting the deepening defense cooperation between the two nations, an Egyptian military contingent will join the marching units. Furthermore, the Cyprus National Guard will debut its new Barak MX anti-aircraft system, marking its first public appearance since being added to the national defense arsenal. Preparatory flyovers were conducted on September 29 to coordinate the aerial formations.
