Charity foundation raises awareness for childhood cancer in Cyprus

On September 25 and 26, 2026, the Mikroi Iroes (Little Heroes) Foundation conducted a series of awareness-raising activities across Cyprus as part of 'Golden September,' a month dedicated to childhood cancer education. The campaign aimed to emphasize that the battle against pediatric cancer is a collective societal responsibility, focusing on providing moral support to affected families and hospitalized children.

On September 25, several prominent public buildings were illuminated with the foundation's emblem, including the Presidential Palace, the Old City Hall in Eleftherias Square, the Limassol City Hall and its Municipal Library, the Larnaca Municipal Gallery, and the Paphos City Hall. The following day, September 26, about 100 young cub scouts from the Cyprus Scout Association, accompanied by the Limassol District Philharmonic Orchestra, visited the Pediatric Oncology Department at Makarios Hospital. The visitors engaged the young patients with music, dancing, and various interactive activities, creating a festive atmosphere to provide moments of joy for those undergoing treatment.
