Nicosia Municipality announces closures for October 1st holiday

The Nicosia Municipality has officially announced that all municipal offices and essential services will be closed on Thursday, October 1, 2026, in observance of the public holiday. This operational suspension extends to the Agios Antonios Municipal Market and the Wholesale Market, both of which will remain closed throughout the day. Furthermore, the temporary Green Points located in Kaimakli and Agios Dometios will also be inaccessible to the public.

Changes to waste management services have been implemented due to the holiday schedule. The household waste collection, typically scheduled for Wednesday night and early Thursday morning, has been suspended, with operations resuming on the next regular collection date. Additionally, the collection of municipal paper bags has been postponed and is rescheduled to take place on Thursday, October 8, 2026. Residents are advised to plan their waste disposal activities accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
