Estonia blames Russian services for Milrem Robotics arson attack

On September 29, 2026, the Estonian government officially accused Russian special services of orchestrating an arson attack on the facilities of Milrem Robotics. The incident, which took place in Tallinn between August 14 and 15, targeted a defense company known for supplying THeMIS unmanned ground vehicles to the Ukrainian armed forces.

Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal and Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna stated that findings from the Internal Security Service (KAPO) confirm the attack was an act of organized sabotage directed by Moscow as part of a wider intimidation campaign. In response to these findings, the Estonian government summoned a Russian diplomatic representative to provide explanations regarding the incident.

The Kremlin has categorically rejected the accusations. Presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov dismissed the claims as groundless, reckless, and illogical, stating that they do not reflect reality. Estonia has not publicly disclosed specific evidence, citing the confidential nature of the investigation conducted by its security agencies.
