Greek Defense Minister to visit Cyprus for 66th independence anniversary

Greek Minister of National Defense Nikos Dendias is scheduled to visit Cyprus this week to attend the celebrations for the 66th anniversary of the Republic of Cyprus' independence. According to official reports from the Greek Ministry of National Defense and local media, Dendias will arrive on Wednesday to begin a series of high-level diplomatic engagements.

During his visit, Dendias is set to meet with Archbishop Georgios on Wednesday. On Thursday, October 1, he will join President Nikos Christodoulides at the Presidential Palace to lay a wreath at the statue of Archbishop Makarios III. Following this ceremony, he will hold a private meeting with the President and attend the official military parade in Nicosia. While a reporter source refers to him as the Foreign Minister, multiple domestic sources confirm he is attending in his capacity as the Minister of National Defense to reinforce bilateral ties between the two nations.
