Israeli nationals arrested in Limassol following major drug seizure

On September 29, 2026, members of the Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN) in Limassol conducted a raid on an apartment following a tip-off. During the operation, authorities seized approximately 25 kilograms of ketamine and discovered a travel suitcase containing cocaine and other unidentified narcotics, which are currently being weighed. Two Israeli nationals were arrested at the scene and are expected to appear before a court on September 30.

Authorities are investigating whether this case is linked to a separate, larger investigation involving the discovery of nearly 400 kilograms of ketamine—some sources specify 390 kilograms—belonging to two Israelis and one Palestinian. Three individuals involved in that earlier case have already been referred to the Permanent Assizes Court, with proceedings scheduled for early December. Simultaneously, the YKAN is pursuing another investigation following the discovery of over six kilograms of cannabis.

The current investigation remains active, with law enforcement exploring all possibilities regarding the potential connection between these incidents. The two detained suspects are scheduled for a court appearance tomorrow to address the charges resulting from this latest seizure.
