South Carolina mother charged after allegedly stabbing her children
A 35-year-old woman, Taylor Gosnell, was arrested in Spartanburg, South Carolina, following an alleged violent attack on her two young children, aged 3 and 6, early Saturday morning. Authorities discovered the children at the family home after responding to a welfare check, finding them with a combined total of approximately 50 injuries. Graham McLellan, representing the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office, noted that the attack involved both a knife and a blunt object.
Prosecution officials stated during a bond hearing that several wounds were deep enough to reach the bone. The six-year-old child sustained the most severe injuries and currently faces the potential for amputation of fingers or part of a hand. While the victims remain hospitalized, officials have reported that they are in stable condition and are expected to recover.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and the suspect faces charges of attempted murder related to the brutal assault. Further legal proceedings are expected to follow as the authorities continue to review the evidence found at the crime scene.
