Apollon Limassol looks to build momentum after undefeated start to the season

Apollon Limassol has concluded the first four matches of the Cyprus League season with an undefeated, albeit mixed, record of one win and three draws. Although the team has accumulated six points—a tally identical to their start last season—manager Hernan Losada faces a more challenging schedule, having already navigated intense matches against Aris, Anorthosis, Omonia, and APOEL. Despite scoring seven goals, the defensive unit has conceded five times, with 60% of those goals coming from penalty kicks. The team is currently ranked fifth in the standings.

To address performance gaps, the club expects the return of key players Brown, Ljubic, and Ozbolt following the international break. These returns are particularly vital for stabilizing the midfield, allowing Konomi to move back to his natural position, and adding depth to an attack where Alen Ozbolt has already made an impact with two league goals. Additionally, the coaching staff is using an upcoming friendly against AEK to evaluate players like Asoro and Ugbo, who have yet to meet expectations.

Looking ahead, Apollon has identified a critical three-match stretch against Krasava ENY, Nea Salamina, and Karmiotissa, where they aim to secure nine points. Success in these fixtures is viewed as essential for building momentum before a pivotal showdown against Pafos on the eighth matchday.
