Frederick University appoints new academic leadership

Frederick University has officially announced the appointment of four new Vice-Rectors following an electoral process held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. This marks a historic milestone for the institution, as women have been appointed to the Vice-Rector positions for the first time in the university's history.

The newly elected leadership, serving a four-year term, includes Professor Rita Panaoura as Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Quality Assurance and Professor Nikleia Eteokleous as Vice-Rector for Educational Strategy and Academic Development. Additionally, Professor Charis Charalambous has been named Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, while Professor Andreas Poullikkas will serve as Vice-Rector for Development, Internationalization, and Strategic Partnerships.

University Rector, Professor George Demosthenous, congratulated the new appointees and emphasized the importance of fostering a productive collaboration to advance the university's objectives. The new leadership team is tasked with maintaining institutional excellence, enhancing the quality of studies, and guiding the pedagogical direction of the university moving forward.
