Kormakitis Laotrypa and Giannakis Stavrou win final Nicosia shooting championship

The fifth and final event of the 13th Nicosia Provincial Shooting Championship concluded on September 30, 2026, at the 'Lakis Psymolofitis' Olympic Shooting Range. The competition was dedicated to the memory of Kokis Solomonidis, a veteran hunter and official who passed away recently, and was sponsored by EKMA FURNISHINGS LTD.

In the team category, the Laotrypa Kormakitis team secured their first victory of the season after a tie-break. They finished with 133 hits out of 150, tying with the Ftelia Geri team before prevailing via the last-round rule. The Nicosia Hunting Union finished third with 130/150. The winning team included athletes Ilias Antoniou, Kostas Laos, Antonis Diolas, and Sifis Georgiou. In individual categories, Giannakis Stavrou (Category B) won with a score of 48/50, while Pantelis Andreou topped the Elite category. Among teenagers, Stavros Parmenidis from the Agioi Trimithias Hunting Club recorded a score of 45/50.
