Fanny Ardant to perform in Cassandre in Limassol

French actress Fanny Ardant is scheduled to perform in the spoken opera "Cassandre" on October 2, 2026, in Limassol. The event is presented by the Cyprus International Theatre Festival (CITF) and serves as the closing production of the festival's program.

The performance features a score by Swiss composer Michael Jarrell, based on the novel by Christa Wolf, which explores the tragedy of the Trojan prophetess. Ardant will share the stage with 18 musicians from the Commandaria Orchestra, conducted by Jean Deroyer. The work highlights the prophetess's role as a voice of truth amidst catastrophe.

Previously showcased in major European venues including Avignon, Paris, and Athens, the production arrives in Cyprus under the direction of CITF founder Alexander Weinstein. The performance focuses on the dramatic power of the human voice integrated with a shifting orchestral landscape.
