Ancient coins transformed into jewelry at Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation workshop

The Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation is launching its 2026 event series, 'Moments at the Museum', with an adult workshop titled 'The Ancient Coin as Modern Jewelry'. The event will take place on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at 11:00, held at the Museum of the History of Cypriot Coinage.

The workshop will be facilitated by visual artist Christos Avraam and contemporary jewelry designer Iro Kaskani. The two-hour session invites participants to study the historical significance and aesthetics of ancient coins, using them as inspiration to create their own jewelry pieces. Attendees will focus on form, texture, and abstract thinking while crafting replicas of ancient currency. This hands-on creative experience encourages participants to research and express themselves through the medium of contemporary design.
