Parents and students take to the streets over the asphalt plant in Mitsero

Students and parents from 11 communities in the Mitsero region are staging a protest on Friday, October 2nd, by abstaining from the first two class periods. The demonstration aims to oppose the construction of the Prometheas Asphalt Ltd plant, which locals argue will further deteriorate an already environmentally burdened area. Participants demand clean air and health safety, citing the presence of existing industrial activities such as quarries and livestock units in the vicinity.
