Hatzigianneio Health Center in Akaki marks one year of operation

On Saturday, September 26, 2026, the Hatzigianneio Health Center in Akaki held an event to mark its first anniversary of operations. The center serves as a key facility for primary healthcare in the western Nicosia region, designed to provide accessible medical services to local residents outside urban centers.

Minister of Health Neophytos Charalambides and SHSO (OKYpY) Primary Healthcare Director Constantinos Hatzigiannis emphasized that the facility is part of a broader government strategy to reduce geographical health inequalities. By staffing the center with specialized doctors and expanding local services, the objective is to minimize the need for residents to travel to Nicosia for routine medical examinations and primary care.

The State Health Services Organization (SHSO) identified this anniversary as a starting point for further development. Future plans include the continued strengthening of the Akaki center to meet evolving community needs, as well as the enhancement of other regional health centers to improve the overall quality and accessibility of healthcare across the country.
