Cyprus reports industrial production and output price growth for mid-2026
The Statistical Service of Cyprus (Cystat) has released updated data regarding the nation’s industrial performance for the summer of 2026. In July, the Industrial Production Index grew by 1.5 per cent year-on-year, reaching 129.2 points, with a cumulative growth of 1.6 per cent recorded for the first seven months of the year. The manufacturing sector saw a 1.5 per cent increase, while water supply and materials recovery led growth at 8.2 per cent, and mining and quarrying rose by 6 per cent. Conversely, electricity supply experienced a 1.1 per cent annual decline during the same period.
Regarding August 2026, industrial output prices rose by 4.2 per cent compared to the previous year, reaching an index of 127.9. Month-on-month, prices increased by 0.2 per cent, supported by growth in water supply, manufacturing, and electricity, while mining costs remained stagnant. Prices for products sold in the local market reached 130.3 units, while the export market index rose to 115.3 units. When comparing August 2026 to August 2025, electricity supply costs saw the most significant annual jump at 11.6 per cent, with all primary industrial sectors recording year-on-year price increases.
