Joan Laporta confirms direct talks with Inter Milan regarding Lautaro Martinez

FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta has clarified the nature of the club's interest in Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez during the most recent summer transfer window. Addressing the speculation, Laporta revealed in an interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera that he initiated a direct, private conversation with Inter executive Giuseppe Marotta to express admiration for the player and an interest in his transfer.

However, the attempt did not advance beyond this initial contact. According to Laporta, Marotta immediately made it clear that Martinez was not for sale.
