Limassol affordable housing projects progress

The Municipality of Limassol and the Cyprus Land Development Corporation (KOAG) are advancing the 'Affordable Housing' project in the Agios Nikolaos parish. On September 30, 2026, Mayor Yiannis Armeftis and the new KOAG board inspected the construction site on Agia Aikaterini Street. The first phase of the project, consisting of 36 two-bedroom apartments, is now expected to be completed by early summer 2027, marking a slight delay from the original March deadline.

To facilitate development, old buildings were demolished, and residents were relocated. The project will continue with the construction of three additional residential buildings, aiming for a total of 136 new units. Furthermore, the Municipality is planning an architectural competition to develop 400 additional affordable housing units across the city to combat the ongoing housing shortage. Funding for these initiatives is supported by urban development offsets, which ensure the project's long-term sustainability and provide housing for vulnerable groups.
