Aris Limassol adopts new youth-focused transfer strategy

Aris Limassol has significantly shifted its transfer strategy to lower the average age of its squad, focusing on building a team for both the present and the future. As part of this initiative, nine out of the ten recent additions are under-23 players, registered as B-list athletes. These include Al Alachi, Berton, Gagliata, Lebi, Maras, Martinov, Pavirontiharjo, Sakos, and Cesar. Badeli is the only new signing for the A-list, having turned 23 just last month.

Additionally, the club secured the late-transfer acquisition of 24-year-old Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Pereira Folia. Folia, a former FC Porto academy product who spent the last two years at Al Wahda FC in the UAE, has signed a contract through the end of the 2026-27 season. The agreement includes an option for the club to extend his stay for an additional three years. During his time in Abu Dhabi, Folia made 29 appearances, recording one goal and one assist while helping his team win the UAE League Cup. This recruitment drive marks a distinct departure from traditional transfer approaches in Cyprus, emphasizing long-term development over immediate veteran signings.
