CFA Judicial Committee announces disciplinary decisions and investigations

The Cyprus Football Association (CFA) Judicial Committee has issued several disciplinary decisions following recent matches and public conduct. AEL Limassol is under investigation for an official statement published on September 17, 2026, regarding their match against APOEL Nicosia on September 6. The complaint alleges that the club's communication undermined the prestige of the CFA and its officials, violated the principles of sportsmanship, and insulted individuals involved in the sport.

In separate rulings, the committee imposed fines on APOEL coach Nikolas Papadopoulos for improper conduct during the match against Apollon Limassol on September 19, 2026, and on ASIL Lysis player Kostas Charalambous for violent conduct against an opponent during a Second Division match against Akritas Chlorakas on the same date. Additionally, the committee is reviewing a complaint against Pafos FC for failing to field the required number of homegrown players at the start of their match, as mandated by the 2026-2027 championship regulations.
