UK Prime Minister alleges Iranian involvement in incident at RAF Fairford

British Prime Minister Andy Burnham stated there is strong evidence suggesting Iranian involvement in an incident that occurred last Sunday near the RAF Fairford airbase in southwest England. The base is currently utilized by the U.S. military for operations related to the conflict with Tehran. Over the weekend, police arrested five men aged 23 to 25 near the facility following a tip-off about suspicious vehicles. Initially, the suspects were charged with violating explosives laws and preparing for terrorist acts. However, authorities later confirmed that no explosive devices were found in the vehicles, which only contained large quantities of fuel. All five individuals were released on bail on Monday. According to reports from The Times, the incident may have been thwarted after one of the suspects contacted the police.

Tehran has categorically denied any involvement in the matter. Meanwhile, British counter-terrorism units are continuing a complex investigation to clarify the intent behind the incident and any potential state-sponsored links.
