Diddy faces prison investigation over reports of preferential treatment
Sean 'Diddy' Combs, who is currently serving a 50-month prison sentence at the Fort Dix federal facility in New Jersey for offenses related to prostitution, has been placed in solitary confinement following reports of systemic preferential treatment. Four anonymous former inmates alleged to NBC News that the 56-year-old music producer spent thousands of dollars monthly to maintain a lavish lifestyle behind bars.
According to the testimonies, Combs allegedly had access to contraband, including mobile phones and alcohol, and utilized other prisoners to perform chores such as cleaning, laundry, and providing massages. Reports indicate he used an illicit phone to browse Instagram and receive sexually explicit photos from a former partner, and reportedly accessed a modified tablet to watch media, including a documentary produced by his rival, 50 Cent.
While a spokesperson for Combs, Juda S. Engelmayer, stated that these claims cannot be independently verified, prison authorities have initiated an investigation. According to sources cited by TMZ, the move to solitary confinement is standard procedure during such official inquiries. Combs had previously served time in isolation last July following an altercation with another inmate.
