Critical condition for British tourist following motorcycle accident in Protaras
A 54-year-old British tourist is in critical condition following a motorcycle accident on the Cape Greco-Protaras avenue on Wednesday, September 30. The man, who was traveling with a 49-year-old female passenger, lost control of his vehicle, causing it to strike the pavement and overturn. Both individuals were initially transported to Famagusta General Hospital.
The 49-year-old woman was diagnosed with a fractured tibia and remains hospitalized. The 54-year-old driver, who sustained multiple injuries including a subarachnoid hemorrhage and several fractures, was intubated and transferred to Nicosia General Hospital, where he remains in the intensive care unit. The Ayia Napa police station is investigating the circumstances of the crash, including whether excessive speed was a contributing factor.
