Kira Perov to lecture on Bill Viola's work in Limassol

Kira Perov, the life partner and executive producer of the late American artist Bill Viola (1951–2024), is set to deliver a lecture in Limassol, Cyprus, on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at 18:30. The event, held at the Tassos Papadopoulos building of the Cyprus University of Technology, is organized by the PSI Foundation in collaboration with the university's School of Fine and Applied Arts and the Bill Viola Studio.

The lecture coincides with the extension of the exhibition "Bill Viola. Unspoken," currently hosted by the PSI Foundation. Having collaborated with Viola for over four decades, Perov will offer an intimate perspective on his creative process, discussing the origins of his ideas, his engagement with technology, and the development of his moving image installations. The discussion will explore core themes of his work, including time, perception, death, and transformation.

This presentation departs from traditional art history analysis by providing insights gained through a lifetime of professional and personal cooperation. The event serves as a significant opportunity for the public to engage with the legacy of a major figure in contemporary video art, reflecting on the artistic practices that defined his career.
