Pafos FC scout clarifies rumors regarding Aleksandr Kokorin

Aleksandr Kokorin, the 35-year-old Russian forward, currently remains a free agent following his departure from Aris Limassol last summer. The player's agent has stated that he intends to continue his professional career. However, rumors regarding his potential next steps were addressed by Rodolfo Vaz, the chief scout of Pafos FC, during an interview with the Russian publication Sport-Express.

In his comments, Vaz clarified that Pafos FC is not pursuing the veteran striker, noting that the club currently possesses sufficient options in the attacking line. While acknowledging the past achievements of the Russian international, the scout emphasized the club's focus on its current roster, which has gained international attention following the team's qualification for the Champions League under coach Juan Carlos Carcedo. While Goal News Cy reports that Kokorin is actively searching for a new club, OmegaLive claims that the scout suggested the player may have already retired, creating a discrepancy in the reporting regarding his immediate career intentions.
